    Hi,
If all the directories chain exist "/home/wowza/vod/contents" and this is accessible by Wowza (no permissions problems) you should be able to use this location for your storage.
If the other storage is an attached disk or NAS it's possible but if this is another server not on the network, then you will only be able to do this using MediaCache.

More information and how to get MediaCache can be found here,
    http://www.wowza.com/forums/content....and-streaming)

What's the error you're getting can you post it in this thread for us?

    Thanks
    Jason

    Hi Jason,
Heres the config and the error, seems it doesnt accept the new config and its loading the old config that was indicated on the error.

    FILE:

    [root@stream02 contents]# pwd
    /home/wowza/vod/contents
    [root@stream02 contents]# ls
    sample2.mp4

    CONFIG:
    Streams>
    <StreamType>default</StreamType>
    <StorageDir>/home/wowza/vod/contents</StorageDir>
    <KeyDir>${com.wowza.wms.context.VHostConfigHome}/keys</KeyDir>

    ERROR:
MediaReaderH264.open[1]: java.io.FileNotFoundException: /usr/local/WowzaMediaServer/content/vod/sample2.mp4 (No such file or directory)

    Thanks.

    Hi,

Couple of things are you editing the Application.xml inside the correct application. Do you have a conf/<app name>/Application.xml ? or are you just editing the Application.xml in the conf/ folder ?

When you have made the change are you restarting Wowza ?

    Andrew.

    Hi Andrew,
    Im editing this file.

    [root@stream02 vod]# pwd
    /usr/local/WowzaMediaServer/applications/vod

    [root@stream02 vod]# ls
    Application.xml sharedobjects

I also restart the service after editing.

    Hi,

You should be editing this file: /usr/local/WowzaMediaServer/conf/vod/Application.xml
