Thread: Event/Notification that point out chunk creation of nDVR

  1. #1

Default Event/Notification that point out chunk creation of nDVR

I would like to do some video process when the new record chunk created, can any server side API (event or notification) help on it?
Does the ILiveStreamRecordFileVersionDelegate work in nDVR case?

I'm not sure if you can accomplish this on a 'per chunk' basis. However if you are just looking for the initial chunk (at the start of the recording) then one way to approach this would be the following:

    Recording API

Then do your operations prior to the startRecording().

For a more complete API reference:

'per chunk' notification in nDRV would be the best timing to do chunk external video process for me.
And it seems no created chunk in the stage of startRecoding(), so I can't get chunk data .
    any idea to help ?

    Yehudi,

What kind of processing do you want to do? Maybe the Wowza Transcoder overlay feature will work for your requirements.

You can configure overlay in a Transcoder template, or use this API:

    Hi,
I want to detect the motion in the video in near live, the frequency would be too huge if trigger in each transcode stage. Moreover, it's a external process to handle the data.

    Yehudi,

Engineering commented that you shouldn't process these files on disk while playing them back simultaneously.

You might consider using LivestreamRecord to write certain sized chunks.

    Hi,

Do you mean I can use LivestreamRecord + nDVR?
    Double recorded files?

    Yehudi,

    You could do that.
