    Default cant get nDVR started

I've followed all the steps in the quickstart but am still unable to get nDVR to work. I'm testing using the sample file which is broadcast through Wirecast. I've set broadcast to flash 240p in wirecast via rtmp. I get the video in both live stream and record stream but am unable to get anything through the nDVR flash http player. I get an error 2032 which I believe means media not found. Any ideas? I am thinking that perhaps either i'm pointing to the wrong folder. :/ Thank you.

    Hi,

If you have not already, follow the configuration steps outlined in this article: How to set up and run Wowza nDVR for live streaming. There are also some good DVR troubleshooting steps in this article as well.

As a confirmation step, be sure that you can view the live source stream directly (not using the ?DVR query) to ensure that your URL and overall workflow is correct. For example:

    Stream (live):
    http://[wowza-ip-address]:1935/dvr/myStream/manifest.f4m
    -or-

    Stream (dvr):
    http://[wowza-ip-address]:1935/dvr/myStream/manifest.f4m?DVR
If you continue to have problems, create a support ticket by sending an email to support@wowza.com. When responding, briefly summarize the problem and paste the link to this post in your message. Also, please include a copy of your [install-dir]/conf and /logs folders as a .zip file (or other archive) so we can take a closer look at your configuration and server activity.

I've deleted the entire app and reinstalled as well as deleting all application and conf folders. I've created a new directory in conf and applications called dvr.

I'm at the following step in "how to set up dvr"

Publish the live stream (for example, from an encoder) to the dvr application on the server.

Previously I was entering wirecast and hitting broadcast with flash 240p setting to rtmp. This worked for live streaming. Should I do this for ndvr as well?

and at step e. it says

In the Stream Name field, enter the stream name used by the encoder or other live stream source.

would that be the name "myStream" under broadcast settings?

    Hi,

The DVR article calls for the Streams/LiveStreamPacketizers property in [install-dir]/conf/dvr/Application.xml to be set to the following:

    <LiveStreamPacketizers>dvrstreamingpacketizer</LiveStreamPacketizers>
In addition to DVR streaming, you may choose to enable live streaming for this application by adding additional packetizers, like this:

    <LiveStreamPacketizers>cupertinostreamingpacketizer, sanjosestreamingpacketizer, dvrstreamingpacketizer</LiveStreamPacketizers>
cupertinostreamingpacketizer - Adds live streaming to iOS/HLS players
sanjosestreamingpacketizer - Adds live streaming to Flash/HTTP players
smoothstreamingpacketizer - Adds live streaming for Silverlight players

In Wirecast, you will need to set the broadcast settings to publish to the dvr application, like this:

    Address: rtmp://localhost:1935/dvr
    Stream: myStream
Broadcasting using these settings, the following URL's will deliver media as noted:

    http://localhost:1935/dvr/myStream/manifest.f4m - Live streaming (No DVR/scrub capability)

http://localhost:1935/dvr/myStream/manifest.f4m- DVR streaming (Ability to scrub/time-shift in the player)
As always, you can refer to this tutorial: How to set up and run Wowza nDVR for live streaming

I think this will get you setup.
