    Default Error- Source stream frame rate could not be calculated

    Dear support team

    i just just got the error during broadcast live streaming from IP Camera Airlive 325HD as below

    Source stream frame rate could not be calculated. Using default source stream frame rate: 29.97

    I try to adjust the frame rate from 15 -30 fps and get the same result.
    Thus, how could I figure out the error? and How does it happen?

    Thanks you
    Mark

    Hi Mark,

    This error means the stream metadata does not have this info.
    Here is a short guide to fix this issue:

    Thanks Salvadore

    I am trying to follow your guideline but just wondering if I didn't enable Transcoder function in the application.xml, would it work?
    rather that Source stream frame rate could not be calculated, I also got this error as well.

    RTSPRequestMessage.parseHeader[rtsp://xxxx:xxxx/h264/1/media.amp/]: missing parameters......long parameter...)
    This error still happen sometimes so what should I do.

    Thanks
    Mark

    Hi Mark,
    What version of Wowza are you running?

    Take a look at this article, more specifically the troubleshooting section:
    How to re-stream video from an IP camera (RTSP/RTP re-streaming)

    And it may help if you add this property to the RTP/Properties container in the Application.xml file
    <Property>
        <Name>rtpIgnoreProfileLevelId</Name>
        <Value>true</Value>
        <Type>Boolean</Type>
    </Property>
    And lastly, looking at the specs of the camera, it is encoding in g.711 audio, which will only work with Flash RTMP and HTTP (HDS) clients.
    For other clients you will need to transcode to AAC.
