Thread: Database authentication

  1. Default Database authentication

    I'll be working with GoCoder for the first time next week. For RTMP encoders, I'm using a class that extends AuthenticateUsernamePasswordProviderBase to auth against a database, and I''m wondering if the same workflow is applicable to GoCoder. If so, great, if not, is there another workflow to use an external authentication method instead of the publish.password file?

    Thanks,
    Jay

    Jay,

    To intercept for RTSP publishers, in the /conf/Authentication.xml file edit the Method with /Name "digest", add the AuthenticateUsernamePasswordProviderExample as a Property, like this:

    <Method>
    	<Name>digest</Name>
    	<Description>Digest Authentication</Description>
    	<Class>com.wowza.wms.authentication.AuthenticateDigest</Class>
    	<Properties>
    		<Property>
    			<Name>passwordFile</Name
    			<Value>${com.wowza.wms.context.VHostConfigHome}/conf/publish.password</Value>
    		</Property>
    		<Property>
    			<Name>realm</Name>
    			<Value>Streaming Server</Value>
    		</Property>
    <Property>
    	<Name>usernamePasswordProviderClass</Name>
    	<Value>com.wowza.wms.example.authenticate.AuthenticateUsernamePasswordProviderExample</Value>
    </Property>
    	</Properties>
    </Method>

    You're welcome, Jay. I will forward to Documentation too. I think it is not.

    I made all as described, but usernamePasswordProviderClass doesn't called.
