Thread: Make a port for RTMP upstream only

Default Make a port for RTMP upstream only

Is it possible to make a new port to accept RTMP upstream but not all others protocols (ex: RTP, RTSP, all HTTPStreamings)?
The port:1935 keeps the original function to accept all the protocols as it is now, but one new port that only accept RTMP only....
    How could I do?

It sounds like you are asking if Wowza can be configured to listen on port 1935 for all client connections (HLS, RTMP, RTSP, etc.) while allocating another port just for RTMP clients. This can be accomplished by adding a <host port> container to [install-dir]/conf/VHost.xml. Simply copy-paste the entire <HostPort> container and remove cupertinostreaming, smoothstreaming, sanjosestreaming, dvrchunkstreaming from the <HTTPStreamerAdapterIDs>. Then assign a unique port number in the new <port> container.

This will disable the previously mentioned protocols using the new, unique port number, however, it will continue to allow RTSP streaming on the new port. RTSP can be disabled at the application level by editing [install-dir]/conf/[application]/Application.xml and changing /RTP /Authentication /PlayMethod from "none" to "digest". If you disable RTSP at the application level, you will loose this functionality.

Thanks Tim, it's clear and helpful
