Default Mediacache - local storage and S3 storage

    Hi,

I'm using MediaCache to stream content from S3 bucket. Works fine when accessing mp4 file directly.

I want now to add SMIL support. My SMIL files are created dynamically from a webservice and a custom Wowza module (I capture smil name at onHTTPSessionCreate event then get content from webservice), then the newly created smil file is stored in the /usr/local/WowzaMediaServer/content directory.

My problem is that it seems that when you enable mediacache for an application, all contents must be handled by mediacache.

I already tried to add a mediacache source pointing to my local storage wih no luck, because of the empty Prefix that handle all requests (so my S3 source is ignored).

Is there a way to keep both local and mediacache remote storage for an application?

    Thanks.

    Larc,

The smil you create has to be moved to the s3 bucket alongside the content.

Otherwise, if not possible, you might be able to adapt your dynamic smil creation to this method to use Java API to resolve smil requests
