Default starting wowza with better logging?

We've been running Wowza for a few months now (3.6.0, upgraded to 3.6.2 to try and solve this issue) but the Wowza process keeps dying.

Aside from using the init script (/etc/init.d/Wowzamediaserver start) is there a better way of starting the process so I have more/better logging of what is happening when it dies unexpectedly?

Running on Debian stable (aka Wheezy/7) on a x86 system

You can turn on debug logging by editing conf/ and changing the log level on the first line from INFO to DEBUG. This will increase logs substantially.
