Default HLS Stream OK, RTSP and RTMP failing

We are running several instances both WMS 2.2 and 3.5.5 (The issue occurs on both), and one of the encoders that is publishing to us is sending something in their RTMP input stream that is causing frame drops and stuttering audio in both the RTMP and RTSP output from the Wowza repeaters but not in the HLS stream.

We are theorizing that this is an issue with their delta frames as when we run it through an intermediate transcoding, the issue no longer occurs. We are also seeing the following in the Wowza error log:

At the moment we have worked around the issue with the intermediate transcoder, but we'd like to determine if anything in Wowza could be causing the issue or if it is the KulaByte encoder that is sending potentially bad data.

    I appreciate any input. Thanks.

    Default

This seems to be the symptom of bitrate vs bandwidth. You could try reducing the bitrate of the stream or using ABR to remedy the problem.

AAC audio is recommended but if MP3 I have found stereo, 44110hz to be necessary.

Take a look at the Wowza Transcoder AddOn for transrating the stream for ABR delivery and if need be to transcode the audio to AAC:
