Default Origin - Edge HTTP failover

We consider to use multiple origins and edges for live stream.
Our players use HDS, HLS, Silver-Light and MPEG-DASH, meaning, only HTTP protocols.
Since the media chunks are requested over HTTP, I would like to know if the next HTTP request to one of the edge servers could work even if the live stream origin changed.
    For example:
If the primary origin server failed, would the next chunk be requested from the backup origin?
If the broadcaster disconnected and reconnected to a different origin, would the next chunk be requested from the new origin?

The basic fail-over mechanism does not work that way. The client session in progress would fail. The fail-over will work for a new client.
