Thread: LiveStreamRecorderMP4 recorder bug

    Default LiveStreamRecorderMP4 recorder bug

    Hi,

    In the latest Wowza version 3.6.3 startRecordingSegmentByDuration function failed on next segment creation.
    Wowza creates the first segment with the temp file, but failed with NullPointerException after the segment recording finished. The created file is not played.

    In the previous version 3.6.2 it worked fine.
    The bug happens in LiveStreamRecorderMP4 only, so if we change it to LiveStreamRecorderFLV it works well.

    Thanks, any ideas appreciated

    Are you using the IMediaStreamActionNotify3 example? I just ran a quick test using the example on 3.6.3 and it seemed to respond appropriately. What segment duration do you have it set for? I'd like to see more of the surround log statement if possible. If possible, let me know a bit more of how you are producing the issue.

    Yes, we do.
    We use the given example.

    We debug attaching debugger to Wowza process.
    No suspicious logs in the log file.

    Segment duration varies from 10 seconds to 10 minutes.

    The same code works fine in the previous version of Wowza.
    In the current version LiveStreamRecorderFLV works fine.

    We use ILiveStreamRecordNotify to listen to segment events.

    Assume we have a listener class:
    public class LiveStreamRecordNotifyListener implements ILiveStreamRecordNotify {

    	private static final WMSLogger LOG = WMSLoggerFactory.getLogger(null);

    	public LiveStreamRecordNotifyListener() {
    		super();
    	}

    	@Override
    	public void onSegmentEnd(ILiveStreamRecord pRecorder) {
    		LOG.info("LiveStreamRecordNotifyListener.onSegmentEnd [" + pRecorder.getFilePath() + "]");
    	}

    	@Override
    	public void onSegmentStart(ILiveStreamRecord pRecorder) {
    		LOG.info("LiveStreamRecordNotifyListener.onSegmentStart [" + pRecorder.getFilePath() + "]");
    	}

    }
    And just attach listener.

    final ILiveStreamRecordNotify listener = new LiveStreamRecordNotifyListener();
    recorder.addListener(listener);

    Thanks

    Add the following to your Application.xml properties:

    <Property>
    <Name>liveStreamRecorderDebugLog</Name>
    <Value>true</Value>
    <Type>boolean</Type>
    </Property>

    Then re-run the test and send a zip file of the [install-dir]/logs and [install-dir]/conf directories to support@wowza.com.

    Hi,
    Looking at the ticket which was opened, this was fixed in a Development patch.
    Please apply the patch and restart Wowza, this should resolve the issue.

    Regards,
    Jason
