    Default stream file name

    Hi,

I have a question for the stream file name. I configure the template and the application. The folder where the wowza server pick up the source file is the /storage ?

Do i have to change the template.xml to the same name with the source?
Generally how i can specify the source file name ?

    Thank you
    Andrew

    Hi,
It's not totally clear what your workflow is. Since this is the video on demand streaming discussion, I'm assuming you are
asking where the Video files should be stored for playback through Wowza?

The default location is within the Wowza installation directory under the content folder.
The location can be specified within the conf/[ApplicationName]/Application.xml
This specifies where, and can be changed if needed:
    <StorageDir>${com.wowza.wms.context.VHostConfigHome}/content</StorageDir>

Hopefully that's the info you are looking for.

At the moment i am using the: http://192.168.6.12:1935/live/ngrp:m.../playlist.m3u8 and i am getting the loading indication but nothing is playing.

from the error logs i am getting : CupertinoIndexPlaylist.indexFile[live/_definst_/ngrp:myStream_all]: MediaList is empty.

    Hi,

If you are trying to stream a VOD file, and the VOD is stored in your storage location, then using the default Wowza configuration, your Apple HLS playback URL should look something like this:
    http://192.168.6.12:1935/vod/FileName.mp4/playlist.m3u8
To properly configure Wowza for VOD delivery, please make sure you follow the instructions from this article: http://www.wowza.com/forums/content....mand-streaming

    Hi,

finally the stream played with the url: http://[IP]:1935/vod/mp4:sample.mp4/playlist.m3u8

Does wowza transcode the mp4 file into .ts and segment it for HLS?

    Hi,
The Wowza transcoder is for live streaming only and doesn't transcode video on demand files.
This is explained in the Transcoder tutorial
