    Default Disable RTSP streaming

How to disable RTSP streaming on Wowza? I tried to change /conf/[app-name]/Application.xml/RTP/Authentication/PublishMethod and /conf/[app-name]/Application.xml/RTP/Authentication/PlayMethod to "digest" and VLC asked me for a login credentials (I wrote "rtsp://<serverIP>:<port>/<application>/<stream.name>.stream/playlist.m3u8" type of URL). But when "/playlist.m3u8" part is removed from the URL, stream can be played. Is there any other way to completely disable RTSP?
    Thanks

    Hi,
That's the way it should be done and usually works.
I tried as you described but always get the prompt for login credentials.
      rtsp://<serverIP>:<port>/<application>/<stream.name>.stream/playlist.m3u8
is not a valid rtsp playback url
I'm assuming that you get a playback error after entering the credentials?
What you are describing could be a bug, but I cannot reproduce it. What exact version of Wowza are you using?

As I mentioned, the "/playlist.m3u8" part was removed and the stream can be played properly then. So, the full URL format is:

    rtsp://<serverIP>:<port>/application/<stream_name>.stream

Stream is playable, it doesn't ask for credentials but it should, I guess.

    Wowza version is 3.5.0

    Hi,
    Thanks for the update.
After editing the Application.xml a restart is required for the changes to take effect.
The RTSP URL does not need the "/playlist.m3u8" extension to begin with.

When using VLC player you can use either of the URL's below.
    rtsp://[Wowza-IP-Address]:1935/[AppName]/[StreamName]
    http://[Wowza-IP-Address]:1935/[AppName]/[StreamName]/playlist.m3u8
    Regards,
    Jason
