Question Absolute URL in HDS playlists

    Hi,

We need an HDS playlist that uses absolute URLs instead of relative ones. This is possible in HLS playlists by using the cupertinoRelativePlaylistPlaylists property but see nothing similar for sanjose. The F4M format allows this by using the "baseURL" property.

Is this possible? I looked into the MediaList API but saw nothing that would allow me to add new properties to the playlist.

    Thank you.

Unfortunately this feature is not supported for HDS.

    Hi,

Thnxs for the reply. Is there a particular reason why this isn't supported? Will it ever be? It's a feature you already have for HLS and it's perfectly compatible with the protocol. It seems absolutely reasonable to enable this for HDS (and Smooth also for that matter).

    Regards.

I think the reason here is that hls wasn't always relative and conformed sometime thereafter.
