Thread: How to playback vod when file is in sub-directory?

Default How to playback vod when file is in sub-directory?

I have configured the vod application to point to a directory, we'll call 'Home'. In the home directory there are many sub-directories for the purpose of separating the files to make them easier to find. The sub directories are generated programmatically outside of Wowza and there will be hundreds or thousands so creating configuration for all is not possible.

If vod is configured for C:\Home, is there a way to play videos in sub-directories of that location such as 'C:\Home\a_sub_dir'? I tried rtmp://mediaserverurl/Home/a_sub_dir/filename.flv but it doesn't work.

Hi, try this URL format for RTMP playback:
    Server: rtmp://[wowza-ip]:1935/[app-name]/_definst_
    Stream:[sub-folder]/file.ext
    for example,
    Server: rtmp://[wowza-ip]/:1935/vod/_definst_
    Stream: a_sub_directory/file.flv
