Default Live stream intermittent freezing - is it geography?

Our set up uses EC2 on AWS with Wowza being initiated to ingest the live stream direct from a webcam - it all works fine except the broadcaster briefly freezes sometimes with a bit of clipping on the audio on both live and VOD playback. Is it because we are UK based and we are live streaming from Europe or the US? Are there any country or region settings so that the ingest point for Wowza is closer to the webcam streaming out. It cannot be bandwidth as the tests were conducted with 80mb down and 42mb up on the live streaming PC.
I ask only because all UK streaming is fine which is where we are based.

Yes, great distance could be the problem. You mention the broadcaster freezing, but sounds like you are talking about playback clients.
