Thumbs down GoCoder 1.4.2 on iOS just became unusable

    Hi,
We just got upgraded to the version 1.4.2 of GoCoder for iOS.
With previous version (1.4.0) we were using it perfectly well on iPhone 5+ to capture live events in 720p over 4G/LTE.
Now with the upgrade I get a message that "Large format video is not supported over cellular connections. The video setting has been reduced to 480x360".

This change has made the app effectively useless for our use.

What was the reason for imposing this limit rather than allowing the flexibility for the user to set whatever format they like and accepting that it might not work?

We are very disappointed and are now left to look for alternative options for mobile video capture.

    Please seriously reconsider this change.

    Regards,
    Jo Stockley.

    Hi Jo,

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. Functionally, when running on iOS 7 (or later), GoCoder is capable of broadcasting without limitation when connected to an LTE carrier network. Connecting when using a non-LTE network (i.e. 3G) will incur limitations. In previous versions of GoCoder (pre 1.3), the carrier network limitation was applied to all non-WiFi connections. Certainly, you might understand our concern with the output you are reporting. This is not expected.

At present, we are investigating this issue and would like to engage with you in a support ticket (#101432) to understand more about your configuration. You should have already received a support ticket notification to the email registered with your forum account. Please respond to the support ticket with the following information:

    1. What specific version of iOS are you using?
    2. What cellular carrier are you connected to?
    3. What are your exact GoCoder settings? (A screenshot of each screen, as configured, would help).

We look forward to hearing back from you.
