Default How to reduce IOWait on Wowza Linux Server by increasing Memory for Caching

    Hi everyone,

I have a Wowza Server with 32 GB RAM. I set the heapsize is 10GB and I remain 22 GB.
May using memory based caching techniques reduce IOWait?
How can I configure Wowza to do that?

    Thank you.

    Hi.

iowait can occur for a variety of reasons. You can monitor it with iostat or iotop. Make sure your backend storage is as fast as possible to prevent any IO backlogs, and keep available capacity at 80% or under.. If you're using more than one server then yes something like [http://www.wowza.com/forums/content.php?121-MediaCache-AddOn-package-for-multiple-server-video-on-demand-delivery-and-scalability]MediaCache[/url] may help.

    Kind regards,

    Paul
