Default Load test tool: Why is the client setup so involved?

The load test documentation specifies that Wowza needs to be installed and tuned on the *client* machine. This doesn't make sense to me.

Why does the entire application need to be installed on a client, and why does the client need to be tuned?

    Hi,

Using the Load test tool you will generate client connection that will playback content from your Wowza server. To have some load generated on your server, the Load Test tool will emulate multiple playback clients.
In order to maximize the hardware where your Load Test tool is deployed, so that it is able to emulate as many playback clients as possible, you will need to tune it for optimal utilization conditions.
