Failed to stream from Ubuntu desktop 14.04.2 lts 64-bit

I have installed Wowza Streaming Engine on Ubuntu desktop 14.04.2 lts 64-bit and I’m trying to livestream from an Aver SF2111H-BR camera.

When I try to view the stream it’s only a black screen even when it says that it is playing.

I have managed to get this working on my local Mac computer. It seems like some package is missing?

I have also tried to preview the stream in VLC with no success.

Please tell me if you want some more information!

I got it working on my Ubuntu machine by disabling the audio on the IP-camera.

Has anybody any idea why it did not work with audio enabled?

Hi,

It suggest that the audio is incompatible, but that said the audio from the camera (looking at the specs) is G.711 / G.726 audio compression.

Wowza can ingest streams with such audio, but playback is limited to only a few players. RTMP Flash player being one. I don’t believe the audio gets passed though to restream for

RTSP playback. You can disable the audio in the stream file, from the Manager by setting rtspStreamAudioTrack to false. Alternatively use the Transcoder to convert the audio to a more compatible AAC codec.
