Thread: Replicating an EC2 Wowza Server

Default Replicating an EC2 Wowza Server

    Hi guys,

I have configured my EC2 Wowza server (from an existing Wowza AMI) and it's perfect. Now, I have to create 5 more servers with the exact same configuration. It won't allow me to create my own AMI so what is the best way to replicate this server?

I have 20 Icecast streams being relayed from it so I'd rather find a way to copy the server rather than re-creating each one manually.

    Thanks,
    Adrian

    Hi,

You can create a Wowza EC2 startup package that will be applied to every new EC2 instance you create, thus starting additional EC2 instances, that will use the same Wowza setup.
Please see the "Wowza Streaming Engine for Amazon EC2 User's Guide", page 29, for a detailed description on how to create and use an AWS Wowza startup package.

Thanks for the help. That's great.
