    Default Very slow to start rtmp with smil - jwplayer

    it's a serious issue for me. Pls help!

    Wowza 4.2, a fast linux server, fast internet, and jwplayer 7.0.3 (but also with jwplayer 6)
    With direct rtmp the start of video is immediate:

    With smil file is terrible: almost 40 seconds to start!

    And the mp4 called file is the same in both test !

    Smil file is here:

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <smil title="">
    <video src="mp4:55edeef6d69bd7.37613035_M03" systemLanguage="IT" width="640" height="360" >
    <param name="videoBitrate" value="750000" valuetype="data"></param>
    <video src="mp4:55edeef6d69bd7.37613035_M01" systemLanguage="IT" width="426" height="240" >
    <param name="videoBitrate" value="400000" valuetype="data"></param>

    What's wrong??? I tried adding bufferlength but it seems this is not important.
    The result (also with 0.1) is the same. A lot of time before video starts.

    When the video starts it seems good. Rewind and Forward are fast, as you can see.

    Thank you in advance

    I suggest, as a test, trying the abr test files provided here first.

    Using the smil file and mp4 files from that guide, plus the jwplayer.smil, the playback should start quickly from a default vod application.

    Is the same issue present with those files?
