Default HLS.js and HLS for the native video tag

Last week I discovered HLS.js (https://github.com/dailymotion/hls.js), and this has enabled my live streams to work using the native HTML5 video tag on Chrome for Android, Chrome, Firefox (with some config changes), and some native android web browsers. It kills performance on Safari, but this is a very promising start.

Now, their github page states "it works by transmuxing MPEG-2 Transport Stream into ISO BMFF (MP4) fragments." Is this something wowza could do natively on the back end? The potential of this being built into wowza has me pretty excited.

    Is anyone else using this?

    Hello,

We appreciate your question and suggestions. I have shared your comments with our Development Team and this is a project and method of transmuxing that we're aware of. Compatibility may vary depending on which player you use, and you may want to trial all the players mentioned on their site that integrate this library.

    Best regards,
    Andrew
