Default Wowza Streaming Live to Facebook

I'm trying to stream directly to Facebook from my Wowza Streaming Engine. I've read the Wowza provided materials here:

    https://www.wowza.com/forums/content...e-live-streams

and I've read the Facebook stuff here:

    https://www.facebook.com/facebookmedia/get-started/live

I've been streaming live stuff for years, so I'm pretty good at this - but after adding a correctly configured stream target (I've got the live stream coming in, and I'm able to stream back to a player on a test web page) - I still get a "waiting" message from Wowza when I enter the FB info. When I go to "preview your stream" on Facebook it tells me it can't find the stream. This should be pretty cut and dried - what am I missing?

    Any assistance appreciated.

Hello there and welcome to the Wowza support forum.

Please make sure you are within the required stream parameters of Facebook's specs. Also make sure you have followed the Facebook troubleshooting tips.

You can also use this guide to debug the stream target configuration:
How to debug Stream Targets (push publishing)

    Hi,

We now have an integrated Stream Target in Wowza Streaming Engine 4.5 that greatly simplifies publishing a stream to Facebook Live. The updater is available in the My Downloads tab of your customer portal or can download the full installer from here.

This is our guide on how to use this new feature.

How I can run this feature without login in facebook from Wowza Engine Manager? I think it's a much better solution to the security problem (nobody wants to share the facebook password with another company that provides the streaming service) an application outside the administration panel that my clients can run and that return a code that I push in Wowza Streaming Manager when I config the facebook feature.

Have you a Facebook application that can run the facebook administration user and return the facebook.accessToken that I need to push in PushPublishMap.txt??

    (sorry for my English)

    Hi,

Due to how Facebook applies its security logic we're unable to connect to Facebook outside of the Engine Manager at this moment. We do know customers would like a different method but for now this is the only one available.

Will there be an option through the Wowza Streaming App, to additionally send the stream_type="AMBIENT" option when configuring the Facebook Live stream target? I've tried hand-editing the PushPublishMap.txt of the application to add "facebook.streamType:"ambient", with no success. It is very time consuming to go back and delete videos on Facebook Accounts. With passing stream_type="AMBIENT" through the Facebook API, the simulcasts from Wowza to Facebook Accounts will automatically expire, instead of them being publicly accessible. This is crucial when Facebook Live is being used to solicit viewers to view a broadcast at the source.
