HLS Cannot download .m3u8 playlist file

Hello friends, something really really fishy is going over here, I have setup one origin/loadbalancer server and a edge server, the RTMP streams work as they should pretty good, although when I try to get the m3u8 playlist file from a URL like this:
http://37.203.209.34:1935/share/definst/test/playlist.m3u8
it only shows this:
Wowza Streaming Engine 4 Monthly Edition 4.4.1 build17882
and no .m3u8 file is downloaded, I will attach some printscreens too of the application setup:

Origin:

Edge:

Please if someone can help me I really appreciate it!

Thanks, Nikon

Can someone help me please? I cannot understand whats wrong with the configuration.

Hello there and welcome to the Wowza support forum.

Have you tried including the stream name in the url? For example:

http://37.203.209.34:1935/share/_definst_/test/myStream/playlist.m3u8

Salvadore

Okay, yes sorry for the mix up. If that is the case then are you testing this URL in an iOS device?

Hi,

That is an HLS URL, which is only playable natively in Safari browsers on OSX/iOS. If you enter that URL in a browser on a Windows PC then it will simply download the playlist.m3u8 file.

I was able to play http://37.203.209.34:1935/share/definst/test/playlist.m3u8 using VLC. It was also playable using the JWPlayer Stream Tester on other browsers/OS’s (untick “Attempt to render in HTML5” first),

Thank you for the reply, but I think the URL is ok, because the “share” is the app and “teste” is the stream name.

Or is it wrong?

Well I didn’t but I should be able to download the playlist file to the PC right?

Because it does not generate the .m3u8 file.

I use Allavsoft to download M3U8 videos to MP4, AVI, MOV, WMV, MP3 etc.

Here is the easy guide

I use M3U8 Player to download or live stream m3u8 directly. Actually, live streaming is a better way than downloading which will occupy storage.
