DASH + HLS on same server ?

Hi,

I try to transrate for DASH and HLS, both on the same server.

With 1 target size to transrate :

• 240p > h264 + AAC

• 240vp > VP9 + Vorbis

everything ok.

But with more than 1, the server crash and need to reboot…

I’m running on AWS C4.8xLarge - WSE 4.5

Hello,

You may want to check your log messages when transcoding to VP9. If you’re seeing messages indicating SKIPFRAME, this would be an indication that the instance is overloaded by the transcoding process. For additional transcoding horsepower, look into the NVIDIA g2 instance types. When configured using the following steps, they provide very powerful transcoding using the built in NVENC GRID adapter.
