Allowing for Wowza GoCoder

Hello, what settings are required in order to be able to use the gocoder application with my Wowza instance on Amazon AWS? I can’t get it to work and am having difficulty finding the info.

Thanks!

Hello,

You will need to use the EC2 public IP found under your “instances”. Please also make sure you have TCP port 1935 open in Security Groups.

Thanks Jason, I’m able to stream no problem to my Wowza Streaming Engine from Adobe FMLE but with the same settings from my android phone I get “An error occurred” “Could not open connection to …”

If it works from FMLE, should it be working on gocoder or is there another setting in streaming engine that I have to turn on?

Hello,

It should work as well. I would make sure you entered the external IP in the Host>Server and Port 1935. Then Application: live Stream Name: myStream(or what you want to set it to). Source Authentication should be set to whatever you set in Wowza Streaming Engine (Server>Source Authentication).

If that does not help, please open a support case with the below info for further review of your setup, along with your Gocoder version and the Android device you are using.

[install-dir]/conf

[install-dir]/logs

[install-dir]/transcoder

[install-dir]/manager/logs

If you are not sure how to get this information please see the following tutorial.

If files are too big for email transport, please send a link to the files.

Thanks it works now. I had rtmp:// before the IP address like I did in FMLE.

Hello,

Great to hear GoCoder is working now with your EC2 instance!
