If The Application if Vod HTTP Origin or Live HTTP Origin, we can’t create smil’s on the Manager inside the application.
If the application has a content directory different from [install-dir]/content, for instance: [install-dir]/content/application-name, there’s no way to create or start the streams in the Manager. The only way is using com.wowza.wms.serverlistener.ServerListenerStartupStreamsMonitor.
The creation of SMIL’s in the Applcations without HTTP Origin works, for instance Live or Vod.
In your documentation https://www.wowza.com/docs/how-to-find-your-way-around-wowza-streaming-engine-manager I’ve checked that this behaviour is the expected.
Why is this related with the type of Application? Can you make it available to all types of Application in future releases?
