License keys issued for Wowza Media Server 2.x or earlier editions will not work with Wowza Media Server 3 software. New license keys are required.
Upgrade for Wowza Media Server 3 Subscription Licensees
Wowza Media Server 3 Subscription licensees (Daily or Monthly) can upgrade to Wowza Media Server 3.5 simply by downloading the newest version of the software. Wowa Media Server 3 license keys will remain the same.
Upgrade for Wowza Media Server 3 Perpetual Licensees
Wowza Media Server 3 Perpetual licensees can upgrade to Wowza Media Server 3.5 by downloading the newest version of the software. Wowza Media Server 3 license keys will remain the same.
Upgrade for Wowza OEM and Reseller Partners
Wowza OEM and Reseller Partners who want to begin bundling or reselling Wowza Media Server 3.5, please email sales@wowza.com.
Depending on the terms of your OEM or Reseller Agreement with Wowza, it may be necessary to amend your agreement in order to bundle or resell Wowza Media Server 3.5 licenses. There is no additional cost to include Wowza Media Server 3.5 in your OEM or reseller program.
Upgrade for Wowza Media Server 2 Subscription Licensees
Wowza Media Server 2 Subscription licensees who want to upgrade to Wowza Media Server 3.5 or change to a Daily license, please email billing@wowza.com.
Upgrade for Wowza Media Server 2 Perpetual Edition Licensees
The upgrade is FREE upon completing and signing the Wowza Upgrade Form to start the trade-up process.
The Wowza Media Server 3 Perpetual Edition can only be used on a server that is connected to the Internet. A successful connection with a Wowza licensing server is required for start-up and periodic check-in. If you need a license for disconnected use please contact sales@wowza.com.
Upgrade for Service Providers with Wowza Media Server 2 Perpetual Edition Licenses
Please complete and sign the Wowza Upgrade Form to start the trade-up process.
You will receive a service credit equal to $995 for each Wowza Media Server 2 Perpetual Edition license destroyed. The service credit is applicable to future Wowza Media Server 3 Monthly or Daily Edition license usage fees.

Service Providers, such as CDNs, Hosting and Streaming service providers currently using Wowza Media Server 2 Edition licenses are required by the terms of the Wowza Media Software EULA Version 3.0 to use Wowza Media Server 3 Monthly or Daily Edition licenses. To continue receiving updates and support you must upgrade to Wowza Media Server 3 Monthly or Daily Edition.
Wowza Media Server 3 on Amazon EC2
There is no fee for upgrading to Wowza Media Server 3 on Amazon EC2. You will need to use the new DevPay AMIs to take advantage of Wowza Media Server 3 functionality.
