Option 1: Bring Your Own License (Formerly LicKey)

  • Licensing: Use Wowza Media Server 3's regular Monthly, Daily or standard Perpetual Edition license keys.
  • Capabilities: Wowza Media Server 3 and all AddOns.
  • Billing: A monthly invoice from Wowza for Monthly or Daily license (not applicable if using a Perpetual license), and a separate monthly bill from Amazon for AWS instance usage and bandwidth.

This option provides access to the complete server functionality and all premium AddOns, including Wowza Transcoder, Wowza nDVR and Wowza DRM.
 

An Amazon Web Services (AWS) account is needed to use Wowza on Amazon EC2.

 

Perpetual Edition license keys may only be used on one Amazon EC2 server instance at a time.

Option 2: DevPay License

  • Licensing: Wowza software license is embedded in pre-built Amazon DevPay AMIs. A separate license is not needed.
  • Capabilities: Wowza Media Server 3 only (access to premium AddOns not available).
  • Billing: Receive a monthly bill from Amazon for a combination of Wowza software, EC2 instance usage and bandwidth.
