Stream Target - Stream source name

Hi,

Is there anyway to get the Source stream name in the stream target automatically from the incoming stream.

I’m configuring incoming stream from Polycom Media Suite integration with Wowza then added a stream target to youtube and had to manually copy the stream source name from the incoming stream each time we start recording on the Polycom Media Suite.

So I was wondering if there is a way to take the source stream name automatically? or if it possible to fix the source stream name so it will not change every time the recording starts? or to bind the incoming stream with the stream target?

Hi,

Currently pushing streams to a new destination with Stream Targets is done on a per stream basis and thus a stream name is required. The stream name should be that set at the encoder side if you’re pushing the stream to the Wowza Streaming Engine software and this shouldn’t change.

I’ve added a +1 to the feature request that already exists to measure volume. Features which are added to our backlog are reviewed and considered for future versions of the Wowza Streaming Engine software. At this time I can’t confirm if the feature will be approved and if so, any time-scales for it’s availability.
