Smooth Streaming with ismv files

Our server is a Linux Server.

The size of local storage is 200G which can be wowza cache.

The size of total video file in our service is about 1000G, and it’s growing.

It means most of request will result in cache miss.

So I have to make sure the manifest response of first time request cannot be too long.

I also tested the un-encrypted mp4 file, it only takes 2~4 seconds to get manifest.

But if I use encrypted ismv file, it needs almost 60 seconds.

I modified some parameters in MediaCache.xml file, but it still cannot improve.

It takes 1 seconds to get manifest with sample.mp4

It seems that the encrypted ismv file cannot get benefit from media cache.

Hi,

is this still the case? Wowza is not an option for smooth streaming distribution of pre-encrypted ismv’s?

Browsed through the releasenotes for 3.5.1 and 3.5.2 and I don’t see any obvious entries that seem to fix this problem.
