    Default Silverlight and Closed Captions

Has anyone managed to deliver a mp4 (live/on demand) stream with captions to a silverlight SSME Player?

    Hi,
Currently this is not something that cannot be supported through Wowza and the Smooth Streaming implementation.

And there is no way to insert something simple like timestamps or other metadate with a simple script stream (as its possible in IIS with Windows Media?)

    Hi,
Currently support for closed captioning with MS Smooth Streaming is not on the road map.

    Hi Daren,

Do you think that Wowza API is sufficient enough to make own implementation of Closed Caption for Smooth Streaming?

    Hi,
There isn't an API that will enable you to do this.
I did let our Product Management team. know about your interest in Closed Captioning functionality for Smooth streaming.
They may consider this for inclusion in a future release, but no promises here.
