Default Using VLC for a live stream on separate machine from Streaming Engine

    Hi All,

Very new to video streaming here. I'm trying to set up a live stream simulation from VLC (on OS X) to Wowza Streaming Engine (on Google Compute Engine). I've got it working if VLC and Streaming Engine are on the same machine using the following instructions: http://www.wowza.com/forums/content....PEG-TS)&page=3. But so far I've been having trouble getting it to work across the internet. Besides changing the IP address, is there anything else that needs to change to be able to stream from VLC on my Mac?

    Thanks,
    Saswat

    Hello,

You may want to check on your GCE firewall rules. Under the Networking > (Your Network Name) > Firewall Rules, you will want to make sure to add the UDP port in use with VLC, ie.. "udp: 10000" as an allowed protocol and port.

    Best regards,
    Andrew
