Are there any limits to Wowza REST API in wowza streaming engine

Hi,

I came to know that Wowza Cloud instance has restrictions for REST APIs per minute as per the document - https://www.wowza.com/docs/wowza-streaming-cloud-rest-api-limits.

I am using Wowza Streaming Engine and I plan to use the Rest APIs extensively for a custom use-case. Are there any similar restrictions in the streaming engine as well ? if there are then how to I increase that limit ?

Hello Alok,

Thanks for raising this question on the forum. To clarify, the REST API limits you mention only apply to Wowza Streaming Cloud. The reason for this is that, in Cloud, all REST API calls made by all customers are performed against a common server endpoint (api.cloud.wowza.com) so those limits are in place to protect shared resources from over-usage by a particular user, making resources available equitably and optimally for all customers.

The above doesn’t apply to Wowza Streaming Engine, since each customer will make REST API calls against their own private server IP/endpoint.
