PAL-Australia Possible Transcoder Issue

I have a rather weird problem. Have someone using my infrastructure who is streaming from a location in Australia. I have been fighting server crashes for a few days until I narrowed down to the server becoming unresponsive as soon as a stream from that location attaches. While I thought it was a load balancer directing traffic to it, I looked in the logs and my server logs showed a drop as soon as one of those streams hit it. It is a one to one correlation between the connection and the server becoming unresponsive.

Is there anything that the collective wisdom of the forum knows about that I should be doing different when I am bringing in streams from a PAL country. I am generally using the stock transrate templates, with very little changes. I can’t find anything bouncing around the inter webs or here, so am wondering if I am just doing something so weird as to be the issue.

I am also getting reports that a problem exists with stream stability and direct Akamai ingest when running through a hardware encoder, but no stability issues when using software encoder. I do not know if that is something that will lead to anything, but am keeping it in the back of head as a possible contributing cause.

Thanks,

Bob

Hello,

Thanks for contacting Wowza Forums!

Depending on the incoming stream type, you should enable debugging for that particular stream and also the stream targets for Akamai.

For the AU connection, depending on there ingest type, you can enable debug properties in the UI.

For Akamai, here is an article on enabling debugging:
