EVERGREEN, CO., September 1, 2010—Wowza Media Systems, the media server software company, today announced its Wowza Media Server 2 has been nominated in multiple categories for the 2010 Streaming Media Readers' Choice awards in both the U.S. and European award editions. This year's nominations for Wowza are the fourth in a row from Streaming Media publications. In 2009, Streaming Media readers named Wowza software the No. 1 media server choice.

For 2010, Streaming Media Europe has nominated Wowza in two categories, Best Streaming Innovation, which recognizes the product, technology, or service that most changed the streaming landscape in the past year; and Best Server Software/Hardware, which recognizes the top solution for delivering audio and video files over the Web, regardless of delivery protocol. We're glad to have the recognition for our industry contributions that these nominations represent,” said Dave Stubenvoll, Wowza CEO and co-founder. “In fact, the repeated acknowledgment of our success by Streaming Media magazine is particularly gratifying because its readers are the vital players in the business of online media.”

It offers broad support of media platforms, including Flash®, Silverlight®, Apple iOS (iPhone®/iPad®), Android™, Blackberry®, as well as IPTV and game consoles. The industry has been quick to recognize and embrace the possibilities afforded by Wowza Media Server, which since its initial release in 2007 has been deployed by more than 50,000 licensees in some 60 countries.
