Get Up and Running

Use of WebRTC in Wowza Streaming Engine requires Wowza Streaming Engine version 4.5.0 or greater and is compatible with any commercial Wowza Streaming Engine 4 license key. 

 

Step 1. Download Engine Here

Step 2. Download and Install WebRTC Here

This package includes the necessary instructions on how to enable support for WebRTC playback and publishing with Wowza Streaming Engine. The package also includes HTML examples of how to use the WebRTC HTML5 browser capability with Wowza Streaming Engine. Please refer to the README document provided in the WebRTC package for more information. The Wowza support article How to use WebRTC with Wowza Streaming Engine provides helpful information as well.

Step 3. Test and Ask Questions

We are extremely excited about this early release and we look forward to your candid and on-going feedback, which you can submit to preview@wowza.com. The type of information that will be most helpful for improving your Wowza experience includes your first impressions and any insights about functionality which:

  • Is missing
  • Requires clarity
  • Does not appear to work properly
  • Can be improved (and how)

Please include details about how you are trying to use WebRTC in Wowza Streaming Engine, as well as the specific hardware and software in use.

Step 4. Get support

The Wowza Streaming Engine Team will provide active support and assistance during this preview through email to support@wowza.com. This will create a support ticket that will allow for thorough and timely response to your questions, comments and concerns. Please provide as much detail as possible about how you are trying to use WebRTC in Wowza Streaming Engine, the specific hardware and software in use and the issues you are experiencing.
