Lollapalooza Berlin & Sony: The Reality of 360° Live Streaming

November 25, 2015 by Candace Cunningham

Lollapalooza Berlin 2015 was host to a live streaming experience different from anything the music festival scene has experienced before—with the help of Sony Music Entertainment and Wowza technology. In its inaugural year, the festival, which took place at Berlin’s now-recreationally focused Tempelhof Airport, featured a 360° virtual-reality live stream that was broadcast using the Wowza Streaming Cloud service. The action was captured with a series of cameras and each was live-streamed, allowing users to select what they wanted to view and when.

Not only was the live-stream endeavor massive in scale; Sony was under tight time constraints to make the project a go. Learn how Sony Music Entertainment was able to successfully deliver a live-streamed 360° experience with a flexible Wowza solution.
