5 Things to Look Forward to at the 2019 NAB Show

Blog: 6 Things to Look Forward to at NAB

At the 2019 NAB Show, visionaries across the industry will showcase how they’re working to advance streaming technology. Innovation often stems from collaboration, which is why we’ve teamed up with other technology leaders for this year’s show.

Find out how Wowza is putting the stream in mainstream by stopping by the Wowza booth (SU7114), or one of our pods in the Microsoft booth (SL6716) and Google Partner Pavilion (SU218). We’ll be unveiling a number of product updates and new capabilities.

Here’s our list of the six things we’re most excited about at this year’s show.

1. Demo: Low-Latency CMAF

Looking to take advantage of low-latency CMAF? The Wowza Streaming Engine™ software and Wowza Player will soon support this protocol

CMAF will streamline server efficiency for serving most endpoints. And when deployed correctly, the format has been found to enable lickety-split video delivery.

Stop by our booth at NAB (SU7114) to demo this technology.

2. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) Capabilities

We’ve teamed up with Microsoft to implement live-streaming AI and ML capabilities. Leveraging Microsoft Azure’s Cognitive Services, this new technology will be available for preview at NAB in the Microsoft (SL6716) and Wowza (SU7114) booths.

Stop by as we put these capabilities to work. Perfect for real-time content indexing, the tech will be used to identify objects and people in near-real time — with minimal latency or impact on the stream.

3. The TriviaWOW Mobile App

Compete for swag by downloading the TriviaWOW mobile app during NAB. Trivia events will take place during the conference at 10:45 a.m., 1:45 p.m., and 4:45 p.m. (PT) daily.

Developed to help users integrate video into real-time interactive apps, TriviaWOW and the sample codebase will be made freely available in the app store. The codebase can be used in conjunction with Wowza Streaming Cloud to develop a proof of concept or commercial-grade application.

4. SRT Panel

Wowza is continuing to invest in the SRT protocol by adding ingest support to Wowza Streaming Cloud and broadcast support to the Wowza GoCoder SDK. Users can now leverage SRT functionality across the Wowza product portfolio for streamlined video delivery in challenging environments.

Hear from us at NAB by registering to attend the SRT Technical Panel. Wowza CTO Charlie Good will join experts from Haivision, Bitmovin, Deluxe, and Gogo to discuss the latest technical developments of this open-source protocol.

5. The Wowza Developer Bar at NAB Show

NAB is where trailblazers like you push the boundaries of digital content. Start building the next big thing in live streaming by booking a time slot at the Wowza Developer Bar. We’ll match you with a subject-matter expert focused on solving your streaming challenges.

Live-Streaming Solutions as Rock Solid as Your Business

We’ll be live-streaming Wowza Studio Sessions from our in-booth production studio to Facebook throughout NAB, as well as unveiling a number of product updates and new capabilities

Stay in the loop on all things streaming by connecting with us at NAB. From interactive apps with live video to AI/ML capabilities, we’re covering all the bases at this year’s conference.

Stop by the Wowza booth (SU7114), or one of our stations in the Microsoft booth (SL6716) and Google Partner Pavilion (SU218) to check it all out.
