Amazon Web Services Announces GovCloud and Includes Wowza as a Launch Partner

Today, Amazon Web Services announced the discovery and subscription of GovCloud in Marketplace. Here at Wowza we are excited and honored to be one of their launch partners. Now, governments will have an easy option when it comes to deploying their applications on a cloud platform, and a new option when deploying Wowza Streaming EngineTM.

According to AWS:

“AWS GovCloud (US) is an isolated AWS region designed to host sensitive data and regulated workloads in the cloud, helping customers support their U.S. government compliance requirements, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP). AWS GovCloud (US) is operated solely by employees who are vetted U.S. Citizens on U.S. soil, and root account holders of AWS accounts must confirm they are U.S. Persons before being granted access credentials to the region.

AWS GovCloud (US) is available to U.S. government agencies and organizations in government-regulated industries, that meet GovCloud (US) requirements for access.”

Wowza Streaming Engine software simplifies the workflow for delivering engaging content to users anywhere, anytime—on smartphones, tablets, computers and IPTV devices, all with the security, reliability and cost-savings essential in government. Together, AWS GovCloud and Wowza Streaming Engine provide an attractive option for use cases from local traffic cameras, body cams, security monitoring and drones to event broadcasting or legislative sessions.
