Justin Miller: To install Wowza Streaming Engine on Windows, you can go to wowza.com and download the installer from the DOWNLOADS link. If you don’t yet have a license, you can start a standard trial or a developer trial. We’ll start a standard trial, which is good for 30 days. It includes transcoder, NDVR, and DRM features but it’s limited to three inbound streams and ten outbound connections. Once you’ve signed up, you’ll receive an email with a trial license. Open the email and copy the license information before going back to the Downloads page to get the installer. Download the installer and choose to have it Run. You may also be asked if you want to allow this app to make changes to your device. Just say Yes. Once downloaded, you can select the installer, click Next, accept the agreement, click Next again and then paste in that license key.
In the following screen, you’ll need to create a user name and password to manage Wowza Streaming Engine. For now, we’ll leave the defaults to start automatically and install in the standard location. Wowza Streaming Engine should take about a minute to install and once complete, the Manager will open up automatically in your browser. localhost:8088 will be the URL you’ll need to use to access the Manager in the future. Once you’ve entered your user name and password for management, it’ll also ask you to create a source user name and password. This will help later for the security of your live video stream once you’ve set up your encoder. That’s it for installation. Please check out our other videos to get started running your first stream. Thanks for watching and have a great day.
