Before your app can send a live stream to a destination, stream targets must be enabled. This article explains how to check whether stream targets are enabled on an app and how to enable them.
Check whether stream targets are enabled on an app
When stream targets are enabled on an app, you will see the following on WSE Manager:
- A checkmark next to the Stream Targets text in the contents panel.
- In the Stream Targets page, the status will be

Follow the steps below to enable stream targets on an existing live app.
- Open WSE Manager.
- Open the Applications tab.
- Select the name of your live app.
- In the contents panel, click Stream Targets.
- Click Enable Stream Targets.
- When prompted, restart the app.
Enable a single stream target
If the status of an individual stream target is Disabled, click the corresponding Enable icon in the Actions column for that stream target.

When a stream target is enabled, its status can be found on the Stream Targets page. The status of each stream target updates automatically if your app has fewer than 100 stream targets. (If your app has 100+ stream targets, click Refresh to update the status.)

Stream targets may have any of the following statuses:
- Waiting: The target is enabled but is not yet pushing the stream to the target destination. This may be because either the target's source stream is not yet connected or the connection to the target has not fully initialized.
- Active: WSE is connected to the target destination and is actively pushing the stream.
- Error: WSE was unable to connect to the target destination. Ensure that the target's configured source stream is connected to the WSE input. Errors might be due to an incorrect target configuration, an issue with the destination server, or an invalid Wowza Video API token.
