Below are the technical specifications required by the core Wowza Video product. Wowza Video has several additional services which are only available to customers who have purchased a Wowza Video subscription: asset management, historic and live analytics and the customizable Wowza Video Player.

You can sign in to Wowza Video using any modern web browser that supports HTML5 and Cascading Style Sheets level 3 (CSS 3). The Wowza Video web user interface has been most extensively tested on Google Chrome, however, so for best results we recommend that you use the latest version of Google Chrome.

Chrome is the preferred browser for Wowza Video playback and has been extensively tested. Any browser which supports HTML 5 should work, but playback on older browsers or browsers not listed here is not ensured.
Wowza Video Player
The Wowza Video Player is a robust, industry standard player and is the default player included with a Wowza Video subscription. The Wowza Video Player can be customized using an Application Programming Interface (API) to allow for analytics, monitoring, full control of the user interface, and more.

Subtitles and closed captions
Wowza has two HTML 5 players available if you have not purchased a Wowza Video subscription: Original HTML 5 Player and Wowza Player. Features are similar for the Original HTML5 player and Wowza Player when used in the Wowza Video live stream workflow, however, closed captions are supported in the original HTML5 player only. While any modern browser that supports HTML 5 should work, the newest version of browsers and operating systems are recommended for best performance.
All player and browser combinations below support playback in HTML 5 with the noted exception of Safari mobile for iOS 8+ on the Original HTML 5 Player which supports HLS.
