To ensure optimal video quality, follow our guidelines for optimal video quality when you create your source video files.
To upload a video:
- Click Videos in the navigation.
- Click + Add videos in the upper right corner of the Videos list. After the video file is uploaded, the encoding automatically starts.
Note: You can select multiple files for upload. They will be enqueued and uploaded one after the other.
Note: Don't close your browser before all videos are uploaded.
Note: Ensure the clock on your device is set to the correct time; when it’s not, the upload may fail.
When the video is encoded in Wowza Video, the following bitrate versions are created:
- 1920p
- 1080p
- 720p
- 540p
- 360p
- 270p
Wowza Video doesn't upscale, so if you upload, for example, 720p, that's the highest resolution video that will be created. Wowza Video encodes your video with variable bitrate and tries to keep the bitrate as low as possible while still maintaning the quality of the video. For example, streaming someone speaking at a conference would use a lower bitrate than streaming an action movie.
