Monitor page in Wowza Video Legacy

This article introduces the different parts of the Monitor page to help you find your way around the Wowza Video user interface.

The Wowza Video™ service monitors resources continually and offers multiple ways for you to stay apprised of the health of active streams. First, you can use the Statistics panel to see details of a stream's connection, transcoding, and delivery metrics. Or you can use the stream health monitor, which graphs metrics about connection and transcoding processes for any live stream or transcoder, whether it's currently running or it ran in the past. Both methods help you to to understand how efficiently and successfully a stream is received and processed.

The monitor page allows you to see statistics for up to three active streams.

The Monitor page displays the following details of your streams:

  • Inbound: Connected – The status of your connection to your device.
  • Inbound Bitrate: Actual – The bitrate of your stream from your device
  • Frame Size – The frame size of the stream.
  • Frame Rate - The amount of frames per second that the stream is running.
  • Keyframe Interval – The group of pictures size that the stream is running.
  • Total Unique Viewers – The number of viewers that have viewed the stream from a unique address.
  • Current Unique Viewers – The number of viewers that are currently viewing the stream from a unique address.
  • Health - Opens the Health tab of the stream's detail page.

If the Statistics panel loses focus, Wowza Video pauses the metric updates but resumes in real-time when the page regains focus.
